No. 14 Cal Volleyball Wins at Oregon State, 3-1

CORVALLIS, OR - Behind freshman Angie Pressey's 21 kills, the No. 14-ranked California volleyball team (13-9, 8-5) broke a two-match losing streak and won its fifth consecutive contest over Oregon State (10-13, 4-10), defeating the Beavers, 3-1 (30-24, 28-30, 30-28, 30-23), Thursday night at Gill Coliseum. The Golden Bears were also led by junior Jenna Brown and senior Gabrielle Abernathy with 14 kills apiece.
Cal had a solid match at OSU, finishing with a .309 team hitting percentage and 21 total blocks. Pressey added two service aces and 10 digs to go along with her 21 kills and .333 hitting percentage (21k, 4e, 51att). Brown was stellar for the Bears as well, tying a season-high with 14 kills and finishing with a .545 (14k, 2e, 22att) hitting percentage and 11 digs. Sophomore setter Samantha Carter tallied 61 assists and 14 digs, while junior libero Alexis Kollias led Cal with 18 digs. Senior middle hitter Camille Leffall had nine kills and a team-high seven total blocks. Leffall now has 409 career blocks, 25 shy of the school record of 434 blocks set by Cara Dane from 1990-93.
The Beavers were paced by Katelyn Haley with a match-high 24 kills and a .478 hitting percentage (24k, 2e, 46att).
Cal will next travel to Oregon, Friday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. at McArthur Court. The Bears have won 11-straight matches over the Ducks.
