Emily Adams Named To Pac-10 All-Academic First Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- USC women's volleyball senior Emily Adams has been named to the 2004 Pac-10 All-Academic first team, announced Conference commissioner Tom Hansen on Monday, Nov. 22. In addition to Adams, the Women of Troy also had four named to the honorable mention team, including senior Alicia Robinson, junior Bibiana Candelas and sophomores Kimi Freeburg and Debora Seilhamer.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Adams, who boasts a 3.65 grade point average as an international relations major, was also recently named to the Academic All-District VIII First Team and is now eligible for national honors. This is the third conference academic honor for Adams who was named to the first team last season and second team in 2002.
This is also the third-consecutive selection for Robinson, who was an honorable mention pick as a junior and sophomore. Robinson is a communications major with a 3.16 overall grade point average.
This is the first career academic honor for both Freeburg and Seilhamer. Freeburg boasts a 3.33 grade point average as a kinesiology major, while Seilhamer has a 3.12 average and has yet to declare a major.
