WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--It was a clean sweep for the Oregon State Beavers as quarterback Derek Anderson, defensive end Bill Swancutt and kicker Alexis Serna have been named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Players of the Week. All played major roles in Oregon State's 50-21 win against Oregon in the Civil War game that propelled the Beavers into a post-season bowl game.

Anderson, a senior from Scappoose, Ore., completed 24-of-41 passes (.585) for 351 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for a score to account for a total of five touchdowns. In the process, Anderson moved up into third place on the Pac-10 career passing and career touchdown passes charts. Oregon State's offense piled up 30 first downs, 368 yards passing and 455 yards total offense.

Swancutt, a senior from Salem, Ore., posted six tackles, four solo, including three QB sacks (-19), intercepted a pass and forced a fumble. The OSU defense limited Oregon to 235 yards total offense (109 rushing, 126 passing), intercepted three passes and posted seven quarterback sacks (-44).

Serna, a freshman from Fontana, Calif., was perfect in connecting on five-of-five field goal attempts, making good on kicks of 20, 19, 32, 23 and 31 yards. He also was perfect on five PATs. The five field goals made in a game ties the Oregon State record and also ties the Pac-10 record for most field goals made in a Conference game. It marks the second time this season Serna has kicked five field goals in a game and the second time he has earned Pac-10 player of the week honors.

Others nominated for offensive player of the week honors were tailback J.J. Arrington of California and wide receiver Jason Hill of Washington State. Also nominated on defense were end Tom Sverchek of California and linebacker Scott Davis of Washington State.
