Women's Volleyball Places Three On The Pac-10 All-Academic Team

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Oregon State University placed three athletes on the 2004 Pacific-10 Conference Women's Volleyball All-Academic teams, as they were announced by Commissioner Tom Hansen today. Senior Allison Lawrence received first-team honors, while senior Amanda Eggert was named to the second team. Sophomore Abby Windell received honorable mention honors.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Lawrence, the fifth place all-time record holder for kills, holds a 3.62 GPA as a Philosophy major. She received first team All-Pac-10 honors last season as well as honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors. Lawrence has played in every game and has accumulated 1,238 career kills.
Eggert is receiving her first second team honor this season. She holds a 3.5 GPA as a Political Science major. The last three seasons she has made the honorable mention list. Her career .301 hitting percentage ranks fourth in the OSU record book.
Windell, a sophomore from Gresham, Ore., has played in 95 of the 96 games this season. She currently leads the team in hitting percentage with .301 and set an OSU record for a five-game match when she hit .704 against Saint Louis.
