No. 22 Washington Advances Past Utah, 78-71

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Nate Robinson scored 19 of his 29 points in thefirst half, and No. 22 Washington held off Utah for a 78-71 victory Thursdaynight in the quarterfinals of the Great Alaska Shootout.
After the Utes tied the game at 66-all with 2:37 left, the Huskies scorednine straight points to ice the game. Robinson, held to two points for nearly15 minutes of the second half, hit three big baskets down the stretch to thwartUtah's rally.
Andrew Bogut, Utah's 7-foot center and a member of Australia's Olympic team,scored 23 points, including 19 in the second half to help Utah erase an11-point deficit. He also led the Utes with 12 rebounds.
Brandon Roy added 25 points for Washington (2-0).
The Huskies used a stifling full-court press to force three turnovers andtwo five-second violations in the first five minutes of the game and bolted toa 16-3 lead. Utah (1-1) attempted just six shots in the first eight minutes.
Behind six points by Justin Hawkins, the Utes used a 10-0 run to closewithin two at 21-19 midway through the half.
After a timeout, Washington answered. Brandon Roy hit a reverse layup andRobinson hit two 3-pointers to push the lead back to double digits. Robinsonwas 5-for-6 from beyond the arc in the first half.
A layup by Bogut with 2:50 remaining tied the score 66-all. But Robinson hita layup, led a fast break and blocked a shot to close out the Utes.
