Duffy Places 22nd at USATF National Club Cross Country Championships

BERKELEY, Calif. - Cal junior Bridget Duffy finished 22nd at the 2004 USATF National Club Cross Country Championships Saturday at Portland Meadows Race Track in Portland, Ore.

Duffy, who redshirted the 2004 collegiate cross country season, covered the 6K course in 24:54.66 as an unattached runner.

Missy Buttry, who has won three consecutive NCAA Division III cross titles at Wartburg College, successfully defended her women's club individual title in a time of 23:07.85

Carlos Carballo, who exhausted his Cal eligibility in 2003, placed 53rd in the men's 10K race, clocking in at 34:38.84. Carballo served as an undergraduate assistant coach for the 2004 Cal cross country teams.

Jorge Torres, the 2002 NCAA Division I cross country champion while at Colorado, claimed the USATF title in a time of 32:43.91.
