In the win over Fairleigh Dickinson, he posted a career-high 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting, including 6-of-9 from three-point range... Junior C Rod Benson is averaging 17.3 points per game in the last three games. He's shooting 21-of-30 (.700) from the field during that span... The OREGON Ducks are off to a 4-0 start for the fourth time in five seasons... The Ducks take on No. 1 Illinois this Saturday in Chicago (United Center). The last time Oregon defeated a top-ranked team was on Feb. 16, 1974 when the Ducks defeated the Bill Walton-led UCLA Bruins, 56-51. Since then, Oregon is 0-6 against No. 1 ranked teams... The last time the Ducks faced Illinois, Oregon lost a 75-72 decision to the second-ranked Illini in the Great Alaska Shootout on Nov. 25, 1984... The Ducks raised their shooting accuracy to 51.9 percent after shooting 55.0 percent in the win over Vanderbilt... Freshman F Malik Hairston has dished out 13 assists in the last two games.

In three seasons under coach Jay John, OREGON STATE has posted records of 5-1, 4-2 and 4-2 through the first six games... In the win over Portland, freshman F Sasa Cuic pushed his string of consecutive free throws made to 30, tying the school record set by Danny Evans in 1982-83, before missing. Cuic has since started another streak and is at 8-for-8 and counting... Meanwhile, junior guard Chris Stephens has kept his streak intact, hitting on 22 straight, dating back to last year. Stephens scored a career-high 27 points in OSU's win over Colorado.

STANFORD is in the midst of seven game road swing to start the season... It is the school's longest stint without a home game to open the season since 1934-35... Since the loss at Santa Clara on Nov. 28, the Cardinal have had nearly two weeks to prepare for their next opponent (Michigan State, Dec. 11)... The Cardinal will return to Maples Pavilion next month upon completion of the arena's $30 million facelift.

UCLA senior F Dijon Thompson's 25-point effort against Long Beach State propelled him into the Bruin 1,000 point club. He now has 1,021 career points, tied for 44th on UCLA's all-time scoring chart with Don Bragg (1952-55). He is the Bruins leading scorer this season, averaging 15.8 points per game, good for eighth in the Pac-10. He also leads the Bruins and is fourth in the Conference in rebounding, pulling down 8.2 boards per contest... Freshman F Josh Shipp had his best outing of the season, scoring 13 points, grabbing four rebounds and three steals in 18 minutes against Boston College.

USC assistant coach Jim Saia was named as the interim coach of the Trojans after Henry Bibby was relieved of his duties... Saia is in his first year at USC. He spent the previous seven seasons (1997-2003) as an assistant at UCLA... Senior C Rory O'Neil leads the Trojans in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.0 points and 8.2 rebounds, respectively... In the first two games of the season, O'Neil was 6-of-14 (.429) from the field. In the last two, he shot 17-of-30 (.567).

WASHINGTON's 89-56 win over Eastern Washington was marked by an increase in defensive intensity by the Huskies. Washington held the Eagles to 41 percent shooting after allowing its previous five opponents to shoot at a 52 percent clip... Senior G Tre Simmons and Junior F Jamaal Williams led the defensive effort with four steals apiece... Williams also recorded two of the Huskies' three blocks on the game... Washington forced 30 Eastern Washington turnovers in the contest, off of which the Huskies scored 45 points... Junior G Nate Robinson has scored 20 or more points four times this season. He posted five 20-point games all of last season.

WASHINGTON STATE recorded a rare feat by defeating Idaho 37-36. The Cougars 37-point effort was tied for the third fewest scored in a win by a Division I team since the institution of the shot clock in the 1985-86 season... The record is 35 points, scored by George Mason in a win over UNC Wilmington on Mar. 4, 2001... The last time a Pac-10 team scored as few points in a victory was Mar. 3, 1984, when Oregon State defeated Oregon 29-23 in a pre-shot clock era game.
