'Champions for Life' - the story of Stanford and Olympic track and field coach Payton Jordan

The book 'Champions for Life' - the story of the life and character-building influence of Stanford and Olympic track and field coach Payton Jordan - has been released today (Dec. 1) and is available through the Stanford Bookstore at 1-800-533-2670. The book, which retails for $34.95, was written by former Stanford athletes Jack Scott and Jim Ward.
Jordan, who is a member of the Stanford Athletic Hall of Fame, was the head track & field coach on The Farm for 23 years before retiring in 1979. During his tenure at Stanford, Jordan produced seven Olympians, six world record holders and six national champions.
Jordan also served as the head coach for the 1968 United States Olympic Track & Field Team in Mexico City that set records for both medals won and records set.
