Pac-10 teams get their last chance to tune up for Conference play over the next eight days... Although three teams (Arizona, Oregon State, Stanford) have non-conference games on their schedules after Dec. 21, the next eight days mark the last of exclusively non-league play... Both STANFORD (7-0 overall) and OREGON (7-0) are riding seven-game winning streaks, while ARIZONA STATE (7-1) has reeled off six straight wins... The Sun Devils made their season debut in the top-25 this week, moving in at No. 23 in the AP poll... It's the best start to a season for the Cardinal since 2001-02, when the squad opened with eight wins... For the Ducks, it equals the best start since the 1996-97 season... UCLA (6-1), which jumped two spots to No. 16 in this week's AP poll, received its highest ranking since climbing to No. 4 during the 1999-2000 season... The Bruins face their second and third Big Ten opponents of the season, playing at Illinois on Sunday and at Ohio State Dec. 21... CALIFORNIA (5-3) has won 11 consecutive home non-conference games, including five this season... WASHINGTON hosts No. 6 Baylor Wednesday night, while No. 10 Ohio State travels to Oregon for the Nike Classic... The Buckeyes-Ducks matchup is part of a double-header that features Louisiana Tech vs. Oklahoma in the 4 p.m. game at McArthur Court... The Pac-10 posts a 53-21 mark (.716) against non-conference competition this season, including a 5-7 record (.417) against teams ranked among the top-25... The league posted a 6-19 showing (.240) versus ranked foes last season, going 6-15 (.286) in 2002-03 and 3-11 (.214) in 2001-02.

PAC-10 NOTES...

ARIZONA: SR G Dee-Dee Wheeler led the Wildcats with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals in the loss at No. 11/14 Georgia... JR C Shawntinice Polk fouled out with 11:41 left in the game... The Wildcats have not beaten a top-15 team on the road in the program's 32-year history... Polk needs seven more blocked shots to surpass Stanford's Val Whiting (1989-93) for the fifth spot on the Pac-10 all-time list.

ARIZONA STATE: The Sun Devils have won six straight games, ASU's longest winning stretch since the 2001-02 Pac-10 Tournament Championship squad turned in seven straight victories in the non-conference season... The Sun Devils post a 4-1 record away from Wells Fargo Arena this season... SR G Carrie Buckner is leading the team in rebounding (4.1 rpg) and steals (2.8 spg)... The Sun Devils are holding teams to just 48.6 points, 27.3 rebounds and 25.6 percent shooting from three-point land (10-39) in games this season.

CALIFORNIA: SR F Kiki Williams came off the bench to post a season-high 22 points, and was 4-for-7 from three-point range, in the 69-64 win over Long Beach State on Dec. 12... The win was Cal's 11th consecutive in home non-conference games (fifth this season)... The Bears, who entered last week ranked third in the nation in three-point percentage, lead the Pac-10 at a .511 clip (48-of-94)... SR G Kristin Iwanaga averaged 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the team's two wins last week... She led the nation in three-point shooting last week, and enters this week 19-of-25 (.760) on the season.

OREGON: The Ducks are off to their best start (7-0) since the 1996-97 season... In wins against Idaho State (79-56) and Colorado State (66-57) last week, SR F Cathrine Kraayeveld averaged 21.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.0 blocks per game... For the week, she shot 53.1 percent (17-of-32) from the field and 80.0 percent (8-of-10) from the free-throw line... Oregon handed CSU its first loss on its home floor this year in six games... JR G Corrie Mizusawa leads the Pac-10 with a 8.0 assists-per-game average compared to just 12 turnovers... Her 4.67 assists-to-turnover ratio also paces the Conference.

OREGON STATE: SR G Shannon Howell notched the Pac-10's highest single-game scoring mark this season with 36 points in the Beavers' loss at Florida on Dec. 12... Howell accounted for 22 of OSU's 32 first-half points, with four three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes... She finished 11-of-24 from the field and 10-of-11 from the free throw line... Oregon State will attempt to snap a three-game losing skid at South Alabama Wednesday night.

STANFORD: The Cardinal has won seven straight games to start the season for the first time since 2001-02, when it won its first eight... Stanford plays its next four games on the road... FR G Candice Wiggins averaged 21.5 points and 5.0 steals in two games last week, as Stanford downed Pepperdine (85-49) and San Francisco (80-51)... Wiggins leads the squad, scoring 17.1 points per game, and has recorded 22 steals in the first seven games... The Cardinal's No. 2-national ranking is its highest since Feb. 7-Mar. 4 of the 2001-02 season, when it was ranked second in both polls before falling to ASU in the Pac-10 Tournament finals... Entering last week, Stanford featured the fourth-best scoring defense and ninth-best scoring margin in the nation

UCLA: JR G Nikki Blue and SO G Noelle Quinn combined for 43 points in UCLA's win over Fresno State on Dec. 11... The Bruins handed the Bulldogs their first loss on the season, scoring a season-high 92 points and allowing a season-high 76 points... The Bruins continue their three-game road swing at Illinois (Dec. 19) and Ohio State (Dec. 21), their second and third Big Ten opponents this season... UCLA continued its climb in the AP rankings up to No. 16 this week... It marks the Bruins' highest ranking since checking in at No. 4 during the 1999-2000 season.

USC: FR G Brynn Cameron tied a school record with six three-pointers in the Dec. 11 win over South Dakota State, pacing USC with 20 points... Cameron leads the team in scoring, averaging 9.7 points per game... At 5-2, USC is off to its best season start since the 2001 season, and the Women of Troy have put together their first four-game win streak since the 2002 season... With only two games left before the start of Conference play, this is the first time USC will enter the Pac-10 season with a winning record since 1998... USC has defeated its last four opponents by an average of 16.3 points, including two 20-point victories.

WASHINGTON: Coming off a 72-58 loss at No. 7 Notre Dame last week, the Huskies face ranked opponents in two of their next three games... Next up is a home game with No. 6 Baylor Wednesday night... UW has been held to less than 60 points in three consecutive games for the first time since the 1978-79 season... The Huskies rank last in the Conference in field goal percentage (.360)... SO F Jill Bell is averaging 2.00 block shots per game, second in the league... JR G Kayla Burt is averaging 4.5 steals over the last two games.

WASHINGTON STATE: JR G Charmaine Jones averaged 13.5 points per game as WSU went 1-1 last week, falling at Fresno State (65-61) and defeating San Diego State (55-50)... The Cougars open a four-game homestand Saturday with Eastern Washington and are 2-0 on the season in Pullman... WSU, which made 9-of-12 free throws at Fresno State on Dec. 9 (.750) ranks second in the Pac-10 in free throw percentage (.721, 80-of-111)... SO F Kate Benz is averaging a Pac-10 second-best 8.0 rebounds per game.
