Hooker Named Third Team All-Region

Dec. 21, 2004

BERKELEY, Calif. - California freshman defender Courtney Hooker was named to the third team NSCAA/adidas All-West Region team for the 2004 season. She also garnered second team All-Pac-10 honors in November.

Hooker, McCall Smith (Arizona) and Jodie Taylor (Oregon State) were the only freshmen to earn all-region honors in the West, with the trio all earning third team accolades.

Hooker started all 20 of Cal's games, helping the Bears post a 0.76 goals-against average, the fourth-best mark in the Pac-10. The product of Woodland Hills, Calif., played a big role in the Bears recording 11 shutouts, for a 0.55 shutout percentage (T14th NCAA).
