Oregon Tops Portland

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Malik Hairston scored 20 points and Aaron Brooks added17 to lead Oregon to a 92-67 victory over Portland Tuesday night.
The Ducks (8-1) never trailed in the game and hit 58 percent from the fieldwhile holding the Pilots (9-4) to 42 percent shooting.
Oregon led 45-31 at halftime and used a 41-26 rebounding advantage to buildan 89-63 lead with two minutes remaining.
Pooh Jeter led the Pilots with 22 points, while Marcus Lewis scored 13 andgrabbed 12 rebounds. Ben Sullivan also scored 13 for Portland.
Jordan Kent, son of Oregon coach Ernie Kent, and Mitch Platt each scorednine points as the Ducks played their final non-conference game.
Oregon opens Pacific-10 Conference play on Friday against USC.
Oregon slowly built a 23-15 lead midway through the first half before alay-in by Kenny Love started a 22-4 run for the Ducks.
Portland kept its hopes alive with a 12-0 run to close the first half.
