Day One Results from Puerto Rican Tennis Invitational

Puerto Rico - The No. 28 California men's tennis team wrapped-up an abbreviated Day One of play, due to weather, at the Puerto Rican Tennis Invitational. The Invitational pits the Golden Bears against Texas Christian University, the University of Illinois and Georgia Tech.

Cal opened doubles play with the No. 30 doubles duo of Conor Niland and Patrick Briaud defeating Sestini and Abreu of TCU, 8-6. The Bear's Lennart Maack and Dean Wallace also notched a win with a defeat of TCU's Ulrich and Martin.

Freshman Ken Nakahara and sophomore John Pettit were edged by Gonzales and Murnighan of Illinois, 8-6. Vaclav Burger and spring-addition Jirou Nakajima were defeated by Georgia Tech's Gvelesiani and Delass, 8-6.

Singles play has been postponed on Thursday due to weather conditions.
