Puerto Rico - After Day Two of the Puerto Rican Tennis Invitational was cancelled due to weather, play resumed on Day Three. The Invitational pits No. 28 California against No. 5 Illinois, No. 17 TCU and No. 35 Georgia Tech.
In Flight One of singles, No. 27 Lennart Maack picked up a win against Georgia Tech's Zachary Rath, 6-2; 6-4. Sophomore Dean Wallace recorded the Bears other win in Flight One, Scott Blackmon of Georgia Tech in straight sets, 6-3; 6-4.
Cal notched another five victories in Flight Two of singles play. Daniel Sebescen outlasted Pramod Dabir of Illinois, 6-3; 2-6; 7-5. Senior Patrick Briaud also recorded a victory over Illinois, defeating Evan Zeder, 6-3; 6-4. Sophomores Dean Wallace and John Pettit picked up victories, defeating Noah Tyler of Georgia Tech and Tyler Murighan of Illinois. Cal transfer Jirou Nakajima scored his first win with the Bears, George Gvelesiani of Georgia Tech, 7-6(4); 6-2.
