Puerto Rican Tennis Invitational - Day Four Results

Puerto Rico - The No. 28 California men's tennis team notched six singles victories and three in doubles on the fourth and final day of the Puerto Rican Tennis Invitational. The Invitational pitted the No. 28 Golden Bears against No. 5 Illinois, No. 17 TCU and No. 35 Georgia Tech.
In Flight 1 of singles, senior Patrick Briaud, junior Lennart Maack and sophomore Tyler Browne all picked up victories against TCU. Briaud defeated Rafael Abreu, 6-2; 6-3, Maack beat Jordan Freitas, 6-3; 6-4, with Browne also winning in straight sets, sweeping Jacob Martin, 6-4; 6-2.
Also in singles play, junior Conor Niland, sophomore Dean Wallace and freshman Ken Nakahara tallied wins in Flight Two. Wallace and Nakahara beat Conner Murnighan and Evan Zeder of Illinois, 6-2; 6-0, and 7-6(2); 6-2, respectively. Cal's top ranked single Niland Georgia Tech's Marko Rajevac convincingly, 6-1; 6-1.
The Bears will compete in their first dual meet of the season, taking on Santa Clara University, Jan. 25, at Berkeley's Hellman Tennis Center.
