UCLA's Tasha Schwikert Named Pac-10 Gymnast Of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- UCLA freshman Tasha Schwikert has been named Pacific-10 Conference Gymnast of the Week for January 9-17, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Schwikert, hailing from Las Vegas, Nev., scored UCLA's first perfect 10 this season on the uneven bars as she helped lead the Bruins to victory over 19th-ranked Nebraska (197.050-192.650) on January 17. Her score helped UCLA achieve a team total of 49.725 on bars, the third-highest team score in school history. Schwikert scored 39.2 to place fourth in the all-around, which included a national-best 9.975 on the balance beam.
In UCLA's win at Oregon State (194.500 - 192.875) on January 14, Schwikert won the all-around (39.050), came in first on the floor (9.9), tied for second on the bars (9.75), and placed third on the vault (9.825). UCLA is currently ranked No. 2 nationally.
