ASU's Jimmy Verdon Added To Senior Bowl Roster

Arizona State University senior defensive lineman Jimmy Verdon has been added to the roster for the Senior Bowl, a college all-star game to be held Saturday, January 29 at 3 p.m. CST in Mobile, Ala. The Senior Bowl game is played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium and will be televised nationally by ESPN.
Verdon, of Pomona, Calif., started 12 games for ASU in 2004 and collected 40 tackles, including 25 solo stops. The 6-4, 280-pound four-year letterman added 8.5 tackles for loss (31 yards) and two quarterback sacks (15 yards). He deflected three passes, recovered three fumbles and registered a quarterback hurry. Verdon recovered a fumble in the season finale at Arizona and returned it 24 yards for a touchdown.
A three-year starter, Verdon was named second-team All-Pacific-10 Conference in 2004 by the league's coaches. At the annual Sun Devil football awards banquet, Verdon was named ASU's Most Valuable Defensive Player as well as Most Valuable Defensive Lineman for the second straight season.
For his career, Verdon started 38 games and played in 49. He tallied 155 tackles and 24 tackles for loss.
Verdon is a 2000 graduate of Pomona (Calif.) High School.
