Cougars Host Regional Rivals

THIS WEEK: The No. 66 Washington State tennis team will host two regional foes Saturday, Jan. 29...Cougars will meet the University of Idaho on the court at 9 4:30 p.m. the Cougars will play Eastern Washington...both matches will be played at an LCSC Indoor Tennis Center in Lewiston, Idaho.

WSU HEAD COACH Lisa Hart ON THIS WEEKEND: 'We are looking forward to competing against Idaho and Eastern Washington. Both programs are well coached and have talented players. We are going to have to be ready to compete hard throughout every match.'

COUGARS CLIMB ALL-TIME LIST: Senior Nora Gaal placed herself ninth this past weekend on the all-time career singles victories list with 61...fellow senior Chris Martinez sits at 59 career singles victories.

FALL TOURNAMENT PLAY: The Cougars recorded 30 singles wins and eight doubles victories in fall tournaments this season.

LAST TIME OUT: The Cougars played at No. 25 Brigham Young and lost 4-3...freshman Ekaterina Burduli recorded her first win in her first time out as a singles player...she put down Anastasia Sourkova 6-4, 6-2...senior Nora Gaal and sophomore Amy Toth were the other Cougars tallying victories against BYU.

UP NEXT: Washington State will travel to Boulder, Colo., to take on Colorado Thursday, Feb. 3...match time is set for Noon MST/11 a.m./PST.
