UCLA Track & Field Head to Boise Indoor On Saturday

The UCLA women's track and field team will continue its indoor season on Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Boise Indoor in Idaho. The team is coming off of a solid opening meet (January 29/Seattle) at the Husky Invitational where numerous Bruins picked up NCAA Championships qualifying standards.
On the women's side, the Bruins had three NCAA provisional qualifying performances in Seattle. Junior Briona Reynolds won the shot put with a throw of 50'9.50, while junior Dawn Harper, ranked seventh in the Dandy Dozen, ran 8..28 in the 60m hurdles to finish third overall in Seattle. Junior Jackie Nguyen also qualified for NCAA Indoor, jumping 12'11.75 in the pole vault and ranks ninth in the Dandy Dozen. The women's 4x400m and distance medley relay teams are ranked fourth and ninth respectively, while Candice Baucham, who might open her indoor season in Boise is ranked third in the triple jump. Junior Chelsea Johnson, the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Pole Vault Champion is nursing a hamstring injury and is not slated to compete until the MPSF Championships Feb. 25-26.
