UCLA Track & Field Head to Boise Indoor On Saturday

The UCLA men's track and field teams will continue its indoor season on Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Boise Indoor in Idaho. The team is coming off of a solid opening meet (January 29/Seattle) at the Husky Invitational where numerous Bruins picked up NCAA Championships qualifying standards.
The Bruin men's team, moving from No. 17 to No. 11 in the Trackwire rankings after a strong showing in Seattle, are led by senior Yoo Kim, who won the pole vault at the Husky Invite with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 18-1. The mark was an indoor lifetime-best for Kim (old personal-best of 17-4 indoors).
In all, seven UCLA men picked up NCAA qualifying marks or times at the Husky Invite. Junior Craig Everhart won the 400m in a provisional time of 46.48, while senior Nick Thornton won the 800m in a provisional time of 1:48.72. Thornton's time moved him into Trackwire's Dandy Dozen at the 11th spot. Senior Tony Golston, who won the 60m hurdles in a provisional time of 7.86, moved into the Dandy Dozen for the first time this season and is ranked 12th by Trackwire. The DMR team ranks fifth (9:35.45), while the 4x400m relay team (3:10.20) is sixth. Both relay teams have met the provisional standard for NCAA Indoor. Freshman John Caulfield also qualified provisionally, throwing 58'10.25 in the shot put.
