LOS ANGELES - For the seventh match in a row the second-ranked UCLA men's tennis team failed to surrender a single point in a dual match, defeating visiting San Diego State, 7-0 Friday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. UCLA improves to 7-0 with the win, while SDSU falls to 2-2 in defeat.

UCLA's top players, Benjamin Kohlloeffel and Luben Pampoulov, continued their dominance in singles play, posting wins at the Nos. 1 and 2 positions respectively. Kohlloeffel, ranked eighth nationally, was perfect on the day, defeating 51st-ranked Armando Carrascosa, 6-0, 6-0. Pampoulov who moved his record to 19-0, was also a straight-set winner, registering a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Benedikt Stronk. Kohlloeffel and Pampoulov own a combined singles record of 43-3 this season.

Bruin seniors Chris Lam and Kris Kwinta also posted straight-set wins without too much trouble. Lam was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Markus Dickhardt at No. 3 singles, while Kwinta posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Daniel Jung at the No. 6 spot.

The Aztecs had their best chance of getting on the board at the Nos. 4 and 5 positions. Christian Groh was leading UCLA's Alberto Francis, 6-4, 1-0 when he was forced to retire due to injury. Dontia Haynes extended Bruin freshman Mathieu Dehaine to a supertiebreaker in the third set before falling 7-5, 1-6, (11-9).
