Arizona State's Ike Diogu Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona State center Ike Diogu has been named the U.S. Bank Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for January 31-February 6, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Diogu, a junior from Garland, Texas, averaged 37 points, nine rebounds and two blocks for the Sun Devils over the weekend. He scored a career-high 39 points on 16-of-26 (.615) shooting in Arizona State's win over Stanford, adding 11 rebounds for his league-leading 12th double-double of the season. He also contributed two blocks and two steals while making all six of his free throws. In the Sun Devils' loss to California, Diogu scored 35 points, making 12-of-21 (.571) field goals and 10-of-14 (.714) free throws, while chipping in seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
For the weekend, Diogu was 28-of-47 (.596) from the field and 16-of-20 (.800) from the line. He played all 40 minutes in both contests.
This is the fourth weekly honor for Diogu, the third this season, and Arizona State's 23rd Player of the Week all-time.
ASU (16-7, 5-6) travels to face the Los Angeles schools this weekend.
