Cardinal Women Tied For 12th At Regional Challenge

Palos Verdes, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 315 on the first day of competition at the 10th annual Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif. and are tied for 12th in the team standings. UCLA leads the field after firing a five-over 289. They are followed by Duke (293), Pepperdine (296), Washington (297) and Oklahoma State (297).
Florida is sixth (302), New Mexico seventh (303) and host-Ohio State is eighth (306).
Duke's Brittany Lang shot a 68 today to sit atop the individual leaderboard. UCLA's Melissa Martin and Susie Matthews are tied for second, two strokes back, with a 70. Fellow Bruin Hannah Jun is fourth with an even par 71.
Cardinal Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana shot a five-over par 76 this afternoon and is tied for 29th while teammate Kelly Husted carded a 76 and is tied for 41st. Senior Wendra Liang will take a 79 into tomorrow's round. She is currently tied for 56th. Stanford's Lauren Todd is tied for 73rd (83) while Jenna Seki is tied for 75th (84).
Second round action continues tomorrow at the Palos Verdes Golf Club with tee times beginning at 9 a.m.
