Cardinal Women In 13th Heading Into Final Round Of Regional Challenge

Palos Verdes, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 307 on the second day of competition at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge to bring their two-day total to 622. They sit in 13th place overall heading into tomorrow's final round. Pepperdine moved into first place overall with a 592. UCLA and Duke are one stroke back with a 593. Rounding out the top five are Florida (599) and Oklahoma State (601).
USC is sixth (607) while Washington and New Mexico are tied for seventh (612). Arizona and host-Ohio State are tied for ninth with a 613.
Cardinal Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana shot a 77 this afternoon and is tied for 30th with a 153 (76-77) to lead Stanford. Junior Kelly Husted is tied for 46th after carding a 78 today (77-78--155) while senior Wendra Liang is one stroke behind her, tied for 50th (79-77--156). Sophomore Lauren Todd fired a 75 today to move up into a tie for 57th with a 158 (83-75). Fellow sophomore Jenna Seki is 77th (84-83--167).
Duke's Brittany Lang sits in first with a two-under par 140 after two rounds. Charlotte Mayorkas from UCLA and Eileen Vargas from are tied for second with a three-over par 145. Rounding out the top five individuals are Duke's Niloufar Aazam-Zanganeh (146), UCLA's Susie Mathews (146) and Oklahoma State's Annie Thurman-Young (146).
The final 18 holes will be played tomorrow beginning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
