Washington State Takes On The Ducks

THIS WEEK: The No. 75 Cougars will play in their first Pac-10 match this season...they will take on the No. 25 Oregon Ducks in Eugene Friday, Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m.

WSU HEAD COACH Lisa Hart ON THIS WEEKEND: 'We are looking forward to playing our first Pac-10 opponent this spring. We beat Oregon last year on the road and we are hoping to do it again.'

COUGARS CLIMB ALL-TIME LIST: Senior Nora Gaal moved herself up one spot to be tied for eighth this past weekend on the all-time career singles victories list with 63...fellow senior Chris Martinez now shares the eighth spot with her fellow teammate after posting one victory last weekend to put her at 63 victories as well.

TOUGH COMPETITION: The Cougars have faced four ranked opponents out of the six teams they have faced in dual match play.

LAST TIME OUT: The Cougars took to the Rocky Mountains to face Colorado in Boulder and went on to clash with Iowa and Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb...Washington State lost all three matches, but freshman Ekaterina Burduli took command of the No. 1 singles position and tallied two wins and a loss on the weekend...sophomore Amy Toth enjoyed similar success at No. 5 singles, she nailed two victories on the weekend pushing her win total to 11 on the season.

UP NEXT: Washington State will have a big week of competition in California...Thursday, Feb. 17 at 3:30 p.m. the Cougars will face Santa Clara...Friday, Feb. 18 WSU will take to the court against the No. 1 Stanford squad at 1:30 p.m. and to round out the three-match road trip the Cougars will face No. 16 California Saturday, Feb. 19 at noon.
