Feb. 10, 2005
LOS ANGELES - After helping the Bruins reach the NCAA Final in December, UCLA's Danesha Adams and Valerie Henderson were recently selected to Soccer America's Freshmen All-America Squad, released last week. UCLA is the only school in the country with two players on the team.
Adams, a forward from Shaker Heights, Ohio, ranked second on the team in scoring with 28 points (12g, 4a) in 2004. She also led the team with five game-winning goals.
Henderson, a goalkeeper from Orinda, Calif., started all 25 matches, ending the season with an 0.67 goals against average. She posted 12 shutouts, giving up just one goal in the Bruins' six matches during the NCAA Tournament.
