Feb. 9, 2005

The eighth-ranked UCLA men's golf team was tied for 10th place at the TaylorMade/Waikoloa Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at the Waikoloa Village Golf Resort.

The Bruins posted a team score of 277 (-11) and were tied with Arizona State. Oklahoma State was atop the leaderboard at 264 (-24), followed by USC at 265 (-23) and Augusta State at 270 (-18). Calm winds and sunny skies produced many low scores.

Three UCLA players fired rounds of 69 (-3): sophomores Joakim Renstrom and Chris Heintz and freshman Daniel Im. They were all tied for 31st place. Sophomore Peter Campbell tied for 49th place at 70 (-2) and senior John Poucher posted a 74 (+2).

Three players were tied for the lead at eight-under par 64.

Second round action continues Thursday.
