Bruins 10th after Round Two in Hawaii

The eighth-ranked UCLA men's golf team was in 10th place after 36 holes at the TaylorMade/Waikoloa Intercollegiates, hosted by Hawaii-Hilo University at the Waikoloa Village Golf Resort.
The Bruins posted a score of 281 (-7) in Thursday's second round and have a 36-hole total of 558 (-18), one stroke behind ninth place Stanford. Third-ranked Oklahoma State was atop the leaderboard at 534 (-42), followed by Washington at 542 (-34) and USC at 543 (-33). Top-ranked Georgia Tech was fourth at 546.
Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Joakim Renstrom continued his impressive play, firing a second-round 66 for a 36-hole score of 135 (-9). He trails the tournament leader by five shots. Sophomores Chris Heintz and Peter Campbell were tied for 50th at 142 (-2). In the second round, Heintz carded a 73 (+1) and Campbell posted an even par 72. Senior John Poucher posted a 70 (-2) and had a two-round total of 144 (E). Freshman Daniel Im had a two-day total of 148 (+4).
Oklahoma State's Tyler Leon was the leader in the clubhouse at 130 (-14), followed by teammates Ryan Posey at 131 (-13) and Alex Noren at 132 (-12).
The final round continues Friday.
