OSU Baseball Rained Out In Phoenix
Feb. 11, 2005
PHOENIX, Ariz. - Oregon State's baseball game against Missouri that was scheduled for Friday was rained out. The game was to have been the Beavers' first of four at the Oakland Athletics Tournament; as of Friday morning, organizers had not decided whether they would try to make up the rained-out games.
The Beavers (3-1 overall) are scheduled to play Kansas State on Saturday at 2 p.m. PST, then conclude the tournament on Sunday against Northwestern at 8 a.m. PST and Missouri at 1:30 p.m. PST.
Friday's rainout continues a trend of Oregon State will have better weather luck at home than it does on the road. Since the start of the 1997 season, the Beavers have had 38 games cancelled or rescheduled due to rain. Of those, only 13 have been games at OSU's Goss Stadium at Coleman Field; 16 were at ballparks in California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawai'i, Texas or Florida. Another 9 were at ballparks elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest.
OSU has lost just 3 home games to rain during that time, while having 11 games cancelled at sites outside the region and 3 called off at other parks in the region. The Beavers have postponed 10 home games, 4 games at sites outside the region and 7 at other parks in the region.
