Spring Football Practice Dates Announced

Corvallis, Ore. - The 2005 Oregon State University football season begins Wed., March 30 with the first of 15 spring practice dates. The session culminates April 30 with the annual Spring Game.

Beaver head coach Mike Riley expects to welcome as many as 15 returning starters for the month-long period, including the placekicker and punter. Included in the list of returnees is a pair of three-year lettermen and national postseason honors candidates -- linebacker Trent Bray and wide receiver Mike Hass.

Riley and his staff will be looking to replace several significant starters, including the school's career passing leader Derek Anderson, the career quarterback sacks and tackles for loss leader Bill Swancutt, and the career interceptions leader Mitch Meeuwsen.

Spring practices are open to the public and are held at the Tommy Prothro Football Complex or the Merritt-Truax Indoor Center.
