Golden Bear Sprint and Power Groups Compete in Holiday Inn Invitational

Boise, ID - Head coach Chris Huffins and assistant coach Jennifer Joyce brought their respective squads to the Holiday Inn Team Invitational for a two day competition featuring some of the best talent in the nation vying for NCAA qualifying marks.

In day one competition, Golden Bear sprinters Toby Atawo and Darren Woods ran 21.83 and 21.59 respectively in the 200m. Both athletes advanced to the finals. Freshman, Tiffany Johnson ran a 7.78 in the 60m.

In the weight throw both Rhuben Williams and Craig Kent improved their seasonal bests. Williams threw the 35 lb. weight 61-10.5 and Kent produced a 59-00 effort. Freshmen, Missy Faubus recorded a throw of 49-9.25 in the women's weight throw which was also a seasonal best.

Redshirt freshman Craig Gallimore ran 8.31 in the qualifying rounds of the 60mH which advanced him to the finals on Saturday.
