Arizona's Natalie Jones Named Women's Hoops Pac-10 Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--Arizona junior guard Natalie Jones has been named the U.S. Bank Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 7- 14, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Jones, a native of Anchorage, Alaska, averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in two games as Arizona swept UCLA and USC. On the weekend, she shot 75.0 percent from the field (12-of-16), 77.8 percent from beyond the arc (7-of-9) and 81.8 percent (9-of-11) from the foul line.
In Arizona's 76-73 victory over UCLA on Feb. 10, Jones led Arizona with a career-high 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including a 4-of-6 mark from three-point range. She also added four rebounds and three steals.
In the 87-74 win over USC on Feb. 12, Jones was one of five Wildcats in double-figure scoring, finishing with 15 points on a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. She was also 4-of-5 at the line and dished out six assists.
Arizona (17-8 overall, 9-5 Pac-10) is tied for third in the Conference race heading into this week's games. The Wildcats will travel to the Northwest to face Oregon State and Oregon on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
The Player of the Week honor is the first for Jones and is the 34th all-time selection for Arizona.
