Chris Errecart Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, CA - California sophomore right fielder Chris Errecart has been named Pacific-10 Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 7-13, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Errecart, from Stockton, Calif., went 7-for-13 (.538) with a double, two home runs and six RBI last weekend at Loyola Marymount. He was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in game one on Feb. 12. In game two, which was the first game of a doubleheader on Feb. 13, Errecart was a perfect 3-for-3, including the game-winning three-run homer in the top of the ninth in the Bears' 8-5 win. In the second game of the doubleheader, Errecart was 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Cal's six-run fifth inning. Errecart finished the weekend with 14 total bases, a 1.077 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage.
The Pac-10 Player of the Week honor is the first for Errecart and the 38th selection all-time for California. It was the first conference player of the week selection for the 2005 season.
