Copland Makes Splash At FINA World Cup

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. -- Washington State women's swimming team member Jane Copland returned to Pullman after traveling to Long Island, N.Y., to compete in the Federation Internationale de Natation World Cup Meet at the Nassau Aquatic Center. Copland competed for her father's club team hailing from the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Copland finished seventh in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:34.26 on the short course meter pool. Copland was seeded 11th going into the event. Her time qualifies as an NCAA Consideration time standard.
In the 100 breaststroke Copland finished 13th with a time of 1:12.96.
Former Cougar swimmer, Lindsay Henahan also competed in the FINA meet taking home a fourth place finish in the 50 butterfly and a fifth place finish in the 100 butterfly.
