Gymnastics to be Televised
Feb. 16, 2005
Oregon State's 16th-ranked gymnastics team is scheduled to make its first television appearance of the season this Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. on FSN. The tape delayed broadcast is from the Feb. 11 meet at the University of Washington.
Oregon State (then-ranked 21st) knocked off two higher ranked teams in the meet, toppling then-19th-ranked Washington and then-12th-ranked Arkansas.
That meet played a significant role in the Beavers' move up in the national rankings from 21st to 16th.
OSU had its best meet of the season posting a season-high 195.975 mostly resulting from season-highs on vault, bars, and beam. With vault as the final event for OSU freshmen Megan Devencenzi and Yuki Lamb stepped up to post a 9.925 and a 9.900 to push the Beavers to victory, stealing the lead from Arkansas. In all 15 individual season-highs were set or tied. Devencenzi earned the vault title, while Thérèse Videan tied for the bars' title and Chrissy Lamun tied for beam title.
