No. 17 California Defeats Saint Mary's, 7-0

Berkeley - The No. 17 Golden Bears (4-0) remain undefeated on the season, convincingly beating Sain Mary's, 7-0. With the win, California improves to 4-0 overall on the year.

Cal swept through all six singles matches, only dropping one set along the way. Freshman Suzi Babos remains perfect in dual matches, beating the Gael's Aude Lambert on court one, 6-3; 6-2. Sophomore Monica Wiesener recovered from dropping the first set to beat Kristen Kummer, 3-6; 6-0; 6-1. Freshman Marion Ravelojaona continues to impress in her spring debut, defeating Feline Charlot, 6-2; 6-0.

Fellow freshman Stephanie Kusano won on court four, where she beat Megan Schulman, 6-0; 6-3. Freshman Cristina Visico was victorious in straight sets, beating Stef Ordoveza, 6-1; 6-0. Junior Jessica Shu picked up her fourth win on court six, where she defeated Caitlin Aloia, 6-1; 6-0.

Cal swept all three doubles matches to complete the 7-0 victory. Babos and Ravelojaona defeated Lambert and Charlot on court one, 8-4. Court two saw Shu and Kusano defeat Kummer and Schulman, 8-4. Wiesener and Visico were also victorious on court three, where they won 8-5.

The Bears will host Washington on Friday, Feb. 18 at 1:30 p.m. and Washington State on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 12:00 p.m. Both matches will be held at the Hellman Tennis Center.
