Women's Tennis Vs. Stanford Rained Out
Feb. 19, 2005
STANFORD, Calif. - For the second straight day, Washington's eighth-ranked women's tennis team fell victim to shoddy Bay Area weather. The Huskies showdown with top-ranked and defending NCAA Champion Stanford was cancelled due to persistent rains, and no make-up date has been scheduled.
The Huskies still must remain in the Bay Area to resume Friday's postponed Pac-10 match with 17th-ranked Cal. The two teams were in the midst of singles play when the weather forced suspension of play.
Washington and Stanford will make up the dual match at a later date if it becomes necessary for Pac-10 standings.
The Huskies will thankfully return to the Nordstrom Tennis Center next weekend where they will have a roof over their heads. Washington will host Illinois on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 12 p.m.
