Beavers Rained Out In San Diego
Feb. 21, 2005
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Oregon State's final baseball game at the San Diego Tournament was cancelled due to rain on Monday. The Beavers (6-1 overall) were to have wrapped up the event with a game against host San Diego; OSU had beaten California-Davis 8-0 on Saturday and USD 3-2 on Sunday.
OSU's next action will be a three-game series this weekend at California-Santa Barbara, with games Friday at 2 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. All three games can be heard on www.osubeavers.com.
The Beavers return home March 4-6 for a series against California-Riverside. Season tickets for 2005 are now available by calling 1-800-GO BEAVS or visiting the OSU athletic ticket office in Gill Coliseum.
Monday's rainout continues a trend of OSU having better weather luck at home than on the road. Since the start of the 1997 season, the Beavers have had 42 games cancelled or rescheduled due to rain. Of those, only 13 have been games at OSU's Goss Stadium at Coleman Field; 20 were at ballparks in California, Hawai'i, Florida, Texas or Nevada. Another nine were at ballparks elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest. OSU has lost just 3 home games to rain during that time, while having 16 games cancelled at sites outside the region and 3 called off at other parks in the region.
