Dan Grunfeld, Chris Hernandez, Nick Robinson Gain Academic Honors

Wheaton, Il - Not only have Stanford basketball players enjoyed success on the court, but they are also successful in the classroom.

Three members of this year's team, Dan Grunfeld, Chris Hernandez and Nick Robinson have been named to the five-man District-8 ESPN The Magazine University Division All-Academic Men's Basketball Team.

Grunfeld carries a 3.66 gpa in American Studies; Hernandez holds a 3.20 gpa in Sociology while Robinson holds a 3.41 gpa in Political Science. Also named to the first team were Christian Maraker of Pacific, who has a 3.46 gpa in Sports Science, and Brett Cox of Weber State, who holds a 3.94 gpa in English.

All five athletes will now be placed on the national Academic All-American ballot. The Academic All-American University Division Men's Basketball Team will be announced on March 2.
