Trojans In Ninth After Two Days At Lady Puerto Rico Classic

The USC women's golf team shot a second-round 309 to pull into a ninth-place tie with Purdue on Tuesday (Feb. 22) at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan. Tanya Dergal posted a 76 to lead the way for the Women of Troy.
Dergal has shot an 11-over par 155, tied for 27th overall, through two rounds of the three-day midweek tournament at Dorado Del Mar. Freshman Dewi-Claire Schreefel and sophomore Veronica Felibert are each trailing Dergal by a stroke. Catalina Marin is just behind them with a 158.
USC was in a 10th-place tie with Kent State after shooting a 316 on Monday. Their 49-over par 625 total put them only one shot behind East Tennessee State and two behind California.
Irene Cho, coming off a fourth-place finish at the Northrop Grumman Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif., two weeks ago, has posted a 164.
Auburn leads the tournament with a 596, led by Diana Ramage's 3-over par 147. Florida's Tiffany Chudy is the individual leader at 146.
