No. 20 Softball Hosts Palm Springs Classic At Big League Dreams

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University's softball program will host the second annual Palm Springs Classic at Big League Dreams on Feb. 25-27.
The 24-team tournament field includes two-time defending NCAA National Champion UCLA and runner-up California, as well as six teams that finished the 2004 season ranked in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25. The field also includes 11 2004 NCAA All-Americans and 15 programs that reached the 2004 NCAA Regional Tournament.
The No. 20 ranked Beavers will play five games in the three-day tourney, starting action with a 2004 NCAA Regional rematch against No. 7 ranked Tennessee on Friday at 5:30 p.m., followed by an 8 p.m. contest against Wisconsin.
Oregon State senior Kelly Petersen needs just four more runs to become the first player in OSU history to record 100 runs scored and 100 RBI (101).
