No. 22 Softball Rolls Past Long Island, 12-1

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - No. 22 ranked Oregon State pounded a season-high 15 hits en route to a dominating 12-1 five-inning victory against Long Island University in Saturday's softball action at the Palm Springs Classic at Big League Dreams.
Junior outfielder Adrienne Alo picked up where she left off against Wisconsin on Friday night, by sending the first pitch she saw over the fence in the opening inning for her team-leading fourth home run of the season.
The Beavers picked up two more hits and added two more runs in the bottom of the first to grab an early 3-0 lead.
Every OSU player got in on the act, as the top of the line-up reeled off four straight hits and the Beavers finished with five hits and three runs in the third inning to make the score 6-0.
Beaver hurler Brianne McGowan (6-2) allowed just one hit and struck out three batters en route to her sixth victory of the year. Fellow sophomore Ta'Tyana McElroy entered the game in relief for the final two frames.
Oregon State continues tournament action with a 6 p.m. game against Ohio State.
