Reser Stadium Expansion Update -- March 2, 2005
March 2, 2005
Corvallis, Ore. - The Raising Reser Stadium project continues to progress on schedule. The recent notable progress is the addition of the steel tresses that will support the roof of the stadium. On Fri., March 4th the official topping off of the structure will occur. The installation of the tallest piece of the structure will complete the overall frame construction and mark the beginning of the work on finishing the skin, Interiors and the infrastructure of the expansion.
Over the next few weeks the remaining precast concrete will be put in place and the seating area will be prepped for the installation of seats, which will begin in April. The floors of the structure are currently being poured. Fireproofing and insulation is being blown into place on the ceilings so that work can begin on enclosing the club, loge, and suite levels. The skybridge to connect the wings of the upper deck will be put in place within the next few weeks and painters will begin to prepare the steel to be painted. When the stadium is completed all the exposed steel will be white.
Progress continues on the main concourse with the building of concession and merchandise stands, restrooms, and the main concourse. The tower cranes will be coming down after completing the roof by the end of March. Several more local and national subcontractors will be joining the existing work force and begin to work on their areas of expertise in the next few weeks to push the project through to completion by Sept. 3, 2005.
