Stanford junior second baseman Jed Lowrie will be interviewed on KNBR Sportsphone 680 this Thursday, March 3. The show is hosted by Larry Krueger on KNBR (680 AM) and runs from 7-10 pm, PT. Lowrie was a First Team All-American in 2004 and the Pac-10 Player of the Year, winning the conference's Triple Crown with a .399 batting average, 17 home runs and 68 RBI to lead the Cardinal to its second consecutive Pac-10 crown.
The 2005 National Player of the Year candidate is off to another outstanding start this season as he currently leads the Pac-10 with seven homers, while ranking second in the conference in RBI (23). Defensively, he has not made an error in 63 chances for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
No. 11 Stanford (9-6) hosts California (10-4) in a three-game non-conference series at Sunken Diamond this Friday-Sunday (5 pm, 1 pm, 1 pm, PT). The Cardinal has a 16-game win streak over the Golden Bears dating back to the last California win in Berkeley on March 9, 2002. California will come into the series with a nine-game win streak.
