Men's Swimming Completes First Day of Competition at Pac-10 Championships

Long Beach, Calif.- The Arizona State University men's swimming and diving team is in sixth-place after the first day of competition at the 2005 Pac-10 Championships held at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif. After two events the Sun Devils have 26 points, the diving scores from last week's championships, which included titles from Joona Puhakka in the 1-meter and 3-meter events, have not been applied.

The 800 freestyle relay team of Jeff Barrett, Lucas Azevedo, David Kolozar and Bobby Crowder finished in sixth-place overall with a NCAA consideration time of 6:34.60. The Sun Devils 200 medley relay team of Evan Rahaeuser, Emerson Ward, Steve McDonald and AJ Blusiewicz were also in action Wednesday evening but failed to post a final time due to disqualification.

The 2005 Pac-10 Men's Swimming Championships continue Thursday-Saturday.
