Men's Swimming in Fifth-Place after Second Day at Pac-10 Championships

Long Beach, Calif.- The Arizona State University men's swimming and diving team is in fifth-place after the second day of competition at the 2005 Pac-10 Men's Swimming Championships held at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif. The swimming team has 101.5 points after seven events.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Richie Crowder, Pat Fleming, Jeff Barrett and Tom Hickman saw action in the final event of the evening, swimming a NCAA consideration time of 1:19.33. Crowder hit the water in the 50 freestyle, swimming a NCAA consideration time of 20.31 while Fleming (20.58), Barrett (20.46) and Hickman (20.91) were also in action.
In the 200 IM, David Kolozar led the way for the Sun Devil men with a NCAA consideration time of 1:49.59. CJ Nuess and Bobby Crowder finished just behind Kolozar, with Nuess swimming a NCAA consideration time of 1:49.82 and Crowder a time of 1:50.37.
Freshman Lucas Azevedo was in action in the 500 freestyle, finishing 11th overall with a NCAA consideration time of 4:24.04. Micah Carlson was also in action for the Sun Devils in the 500 freestyle, swimming a time of 4:34.30.
The Sun Devil men continue action at the 2005 Pac-10 Men's Swimming Championships continue through Saturday.
