Trojans' Ous Mellouli Comes In Second In The 500 Freestyle At Pac-10 Championships

LONG BEACH, CALIF. - USC's Ous Mellouli highlighted the day for the Trojans, coming in second in the 500y freestyle on the second day of the 2005 Pac-10 Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach, Calif., on Thursday (March 3).

Mellouli, a junior and reigning Pac-10 champ in the event, came in at a time of 4:16.99 to clinch second place and an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. This is the first time since 2000 that a Trojan didn't win the event.

The meet continues Friday through Saturday (March 3-5).
