Cal Posts Second-Highest Score of Year in Quad Meet Loss

SALT LAKE CITY - Despite posting a season-high mark on beam (48.750) and the second-best all-around mark of the year (191.500), the California women's gymnastics team fell to No. 3 Utah (197.425), No. 6 Florida (196.450) and Stanford (196.025) on Friday evening at the Huntsman Center.
Freshman Nicki Wells led Cal with a new career-high 38.625 all-around score. The Auckland, New Zealand, native posted new personal highs on vault (9.650) and beam (9.725) and tied her career-best on bars (9.675).
Senior My-Lan Dodd tied season highs on vault (9.800) and beam (9.825) to finish with a 38.075 all-around score. Other career highs on the night for the Bears included freshman Siobhan Luce on vault (9.725), beam (9.700) and floor (9.750); freshman Elyse Wong on floor (9.550) and sophomore Isabel Garcia on beam (9.725).
Utah's Nicolle Ford won the all-around title with a 39.625. The Utes dominated the meet, winning every individual and team title on each discipline.
Cal (6-8) returns to action Monday in a dual meet at Utah State. Action gets underway at 6 p.m. PST
