Box Score

Fullerton, Calif. - Sophomore Brianne McGowan shut out the Pacific Tigers in the last three innings to help the Beavers to a 6-3 win Saturday afternoon in the CSUF Worth Tournament.

'The Pacific win is a big win; they're obviously a very good program here on the west coast,' head coach Kirk Walker said.

Sophomore Ta'Tyana McElroy started off at the mound for the Beavers allowing six hits and striking out three hitters.

On the offensive end, sophomore Sherina Galvan led Oregon State with two runs and one RBI.

The Beavers also saw action at the plate from senior Kelly Peterson, junior Ingrid Lochelt, McGowan and freshman Stephanie Wagoner who all had one run each.

The team had no errors.

'Offensively I think we did a great job at taking advantage of some of their mistakes, keyed in with some timely hitting,' Walker said.

Oregon State will face Nevada at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday morning, followed by a make-up game against Boston College at 1:30 p.m.
