Oregon Advances To Pac-10 Tournament Semifinals With Victory Over Washington

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Catherine Kraayeveld scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds in leading No. 2 seed Oregon to a 64-50 victory over Washington on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Pac-10 tournament.
Andrea Bills added 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Ducks (20-8) won their eighth in 10 games. Gabrielle Richards added 10 points.
Kraayeveld recorded her ninth double-double while Bills gained her fifth double-double.
Cameo Hicks scored 17 points to lead the seventh-seeded Huskies (14-16), which suffered just its second losing season in nine years under coach June Daughterty.
Oregon, the lone conference team to beat regular season champion and No.2 ranked Stanford, won its first tournament game since beating Washington in the second round in 2002.
Oregon point guard Corrie Mizusawa recorded seven assists and did not score. She has 603 career assists and 599 points and could become the fourth player _ men's or women's _ to finish with more assists than points.
The Ducks meet Arizona State, a 73-71 winner over UCLA, in Sunday's semifinal. The teams split their regular-season meetings.
Dominique Banks gave Washington a 36-34 lead with a pair of free throws at the 16:24 mark of the second half.
Kaela Chapdelaine hit a 3-pointer less than two minutes later to spark an 18-5 run that gave the Ducks the lead for good. Oregon eventually led by as many as 15 points.
Hicks hit a layup to put the Huskies ahead 25-21 with 4:29 left in the first half but Oregon scored the final nine points, with Richards scoring twice inside during the spurt, to take a 30-25 halftime lead.
