Lucas Named All-Pac-10 for Second Time

Corvallis - David Lucas was named to the All-Pacific-10 Conference first team today. The senior forward on the men's basketball team picked up the honor for the second straight year.
The last OSU player to earn two-time All-Pac-10 honors was Scott Haskin in 1992 and 1993.
Nick DeWitz was named All-Pac-10 honorable mention. Last week, he earned the Pac-10's Fred Hessler Award for the league's top non-freshman newcomer. Sasa Cuic made the All-Freshman honorable mention squad.
After missing all but one game of the Beavers' non-conferenceschedule due to injury, Lucas injected energy into the Oregon Statelineup just in time for Conference play. In the 18 Pac-10 games, Lucasled the team in scoring (19.1 ppg, 3rd Pac-10), rebounding (7.1 rpg,8th) and field goal percentage (.547, t5th). Lucas was alsoparticularly potent on the offensive glass, averaging 3.44 offensiverebounds per contest (2nd Pac-10). He received Pac-10 Player of theWeek honors on Jan. 3 and Feb. 14 after leading Oregon State to homesweeps of the Los Angeles and Washington schools. Thanks to Lucas'sefforts, the Beavers finished the regular season at 16-13, clinchingtheir first winning season since 1989-90.
The #5-seed Beavers take on #4-seed UCLA in the first round of the Pac-10 Tournament on Thursday.
